Photography

I've always had a camera. I was the one snapping all the photos at the high school events. Photographs freeze moments in time. As the years go by my photography changes. You can see from my gallery that I shoot a lot of nature scenes. Animals, insects, flowers, I see so much beauty through the lens of my camera. I enjoy everything from the colorful images of landscapes; candid moment of people, using a macro lens to get into the eyes of an insect, beauty is endless really. I've done some studio type photography but prefer to be outside with nature.

The high quality digital photos in my gallery can be licensed for many uses. Originally set up to sell as stock photography for commercial or editorial use. My goal was to market towards the low budget advertisers. I sell digital images to greeting card companies as well as graphic designers. You can choose digital images for desktop wall paper, clip art, home decor and so much more. As mentioned above, any photograph in my gallery be converted to black & white if you choose.  Visit the gallery and email me if you have any questions or are looking for something special that you don't see here.

Hand drawn pencil portraits from your photographs

I've always loved art. I've dabbled in many different mediums. I learned a variety of in college but focused mostly on graphic design and illustration. That was 20 years ago. I enjoyed the art classes but never found my niche. Until about 4 years ago. I decided that I wanted to explore pencil portrait drawing. I got a few books from the library and spent all my free time teaching myself to draw. I found artist Lee Hammond's books an inspiration.  Like Lee Hammond I choose to stick with one pencil; a 2B mechanical graphite pencil. My paper of choice  is 100lb acid free bristol board, though I plan to explore some hot-press watercolor paper soon. I use a reference photo with all of my drawings. This is important as I strive for the photo realistic likeness in all of my drawings.

I love to draw children, just seeing the eyes come alive; there is something about it I cannot explain. I start with the eyes, then work my way down the face to the mouth. I find myself smiling when I am drawing a smile. I also draw family portraits, homes,
flowers and other misc buildings, pets, and more. I get so much pride when I present someone with a drawing of their child, loved one, dog, cat whatever it might be. Many times bringing tears to the eyes of the customer and knowing that I did something for them that touched their heart. This is why I do what I do! I put a lot of time into my drawings but it is so worth it in the end.

Pencil portraits make great gifts that can be enjoyed for years to come!
